GrubQuest is a personal project I am currently working on. In short, GrubQuest is a web and mobile application that provides offline rewards in the form of local restaurant coupons for online gaming through weekly challenges called "GrubQuests".
A GrubQuest could look something like:
"Win 3 games of League of Legends with the same party of 5 friends in the next 72 hours".
Successfully completing the quest would yield a coupon along the lines of :
"20% OFF your next purchase at Buffalo Wild Wings (Only valid with a party of 5 or more)"
The Goals:
1. Help gamers hang out more. Whether online or offline, GrubQuest encourages collaborative interaction. By structuring the weekly challenges and rewards such that they are group focused, GrubQuest helps gamers build stronger social relationships with one another.
2. Drive incremental revenue for local businesses. The social capital inherent in games is currently underutilized within the greater market. GrubQuest helps translate the social capital in gaming into revenue for local restaurants.
3. Help gamers save money. Self explanatory!
